About us

The Conway Area Tennis Association is a non-profit Arkansas corporation dedicated to expanding the opportunities for people of all ages and levels to enjoy the game of tennis at recreational and competitive levels. It is a Community Tennis Association, which is an extension of the Arkansas Tennis Association and the United States Tennis Association.

As an overview, we believe . . .

	Tennis is a game for a lifetime and one that offers tremendous competitive as well as recreational opportunities. It is a game the whole family can enjoy.
	While there is a tremendous amount of interest in tennis in Conway, too many people can not find the level of play or instruction they desire without traveling to Little Rock.
	The Conway area is perfectly suited to become a "tennis community" if the people who enjoy the game organize and promote the game through events, clinics, leagues and tournaments. We need to especially focus on promoting and growing the game of tennis among our youth.
	Conway needs a world class tennis facility built so we can expand our tennis resources and attract state and regional tennis events. This will help our town economically and from a quality of life perspective.
	Volunteers have gotten the Conway Area Tennis Association off the ground in 2002 and are working hard to establish tennis in Conway in 2003.

We meet monthly to plan and coordinate events and to talk about tennis in Conway. If you are interested in joining us, please send us an email. We'll put you on the email list and keep you up to date on what we are meeting about and invite you to meet with us each time we meet.

Here are our (developing) thoughts on membership in the Conway Area Tennis Association.

	Member ship is free. We have decided not to charge a membership fee but rather to encourage people to join the USTA. Click on the USTA link and find out all the great benefits of being a USTA member. Plus, you'll need this membership to play in sanctioned tournaments and participate in USTA programs.
	We believe membership in our Association will be an important part of bringing tennis people together with a common vision and will help promote and develop the game of tennis in Conway.
	Membership benefits will increase over time. The Conway Area Tennis Association is very young. As of March, 2003, we are recruiting marketing talent to develop and implement a marketing plan and to help define what a member is. We've been busy on the tennis court and watching our numbers grow.
	We have great plans for our website to become a virtual community that remembers its members and serves up tennis just like they like it. Come join us and help make this a reality!
	We definitely want you to be a member of the Conway Area Tennis Association and we hope you will join the United States Tennis Association.
	If you enter one of our programs or events or if you are a USTA member and live in the Conway area, you are automatically a member and will receive our newsletter and updates on upcoming events as they are available.
